Most of what sellers bring us is a laptop: HP, Dell and Lenovo above all, then Asus, Acer, Apple, MSI and others. Business laptops such as ThinkPads, Latitudes and EliteBooks, everyday Inspirons and Pavilions, gaming laptops with a dedicated graphics card, and MacBooks are all welcome.
Which laptops we buy
- Intel Core i3, i5, i7 or i9 of the 6th generation or newer, or an AMD Ryzen.
- At least 4 GB RAM.
- Made in 2015 or later.
- Working or with a fault we can repair. Tell us about the fault and we will price it in.
We do not buy Chromebooks, netbooks, Android laptops, or laptops with Pentium, Celeron, Atom or AMD A-series processors.
What the technician checks
The same checks we run before we sell a laptop on our shop, with our own inspection app:
- Battery: its health as a percentage of the original capacity.
- Drive: health and remaining life of the SSD or hard disk.
- Processor under load: that it holds its speed and does not overheat.
- Graphics: on a gaming laptop, the graphics card under load.
- Screen and body: dead pixels, lines, cracks, hinges, the lid and the base.
- Keyboard and trackpad: every key and the clicks.
- Wi-Fi, ports, webcam and speakers.
- Windows licence and passwords: no BIOS lock, no account still signed in.

What changes the price
The offer depends on the model and generation first, then on condition. These are the things that move it:
- Battery health.
- A cracked or marked screen, dead pixels, or a broken hinge.
- Missing or broken keys, a faulty trackpad.
- No charger.
- A drive that is failing or missing.
- A BIOS password that cannot be removed.
If the technician finds something you did not mention, they show you and give you the new offer before any money changes hands. You decide.
Getting paid
